Russia’s APEC Presidency Events, 2012

With 21 member states and territories of the Asia-Pacific Region, the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum represents 57% of world GDP, 48% of global trade, more than 40% of FDI and approximately 40% of the world population. The year 2012 saw Russia’s first APEC presidency since its accession to APEC in 1998. Throughout the year of Russia’s APEC presidency a series of ministerial meetings and quarterly meetings of high-ranking APEC officials were organized.


  • Web-registration and accreditation of guests;
  • Management of activities of assigned liaison officers who provided informational, administrative, and logistics support for guests and were responsible for the organization of personal meetings and farewell events for heads of delegations, as well as escorting delegations during their stays in host cities;
  • Operation of information and accreditation counters at meeting venues and remote facilities (hotels and airports involved in the program);
  • Making of informational materials: administrative circular and delegates’ handbooks;
  • Transport services and transport logistics: transfers for meetings and farewell events, provision of executive vehicles for heads of delegations and vans to deliver guests to cultural events;
  • Operation of the call-center throughout the entire period of presidency.
