On December 1-2, 2014, the 8th SCO Special Task Force on Transit Potential Meeting was hosted in the President Hotel, Ufa, Republic of Bashkortostan.
Ufa was not a random choice to hold the meeting; this city is one of the most important transport hubs in Russia. During the meeting, the parties exchanged information on the development of transport infrastructure and transport systems, including the implementation of pilot projects in the development of international transport corridors and increasing the transport potential of the SCO member states.
Proxy Centre specialists were striving to provide the highest level of the event. The guests were met on comfortable micro-buses to take them to the hotel. Liaison Officers met the Heads of Delegation in the airport, coordinating logistics throughout the meeting. After receiving ID-badges on our Accreditation point, the delegates moved to the Plenary Hall to discuss relevant issues of the meeting. Shuttles took our guests to the places of cultural programme – The National Museum of the Republic Bashkortostan and multi-modal railway terminal.
We were doing our best to turn the visit to such an extraordinary city as Ufa, combining traditions and culture of the East and the West, really memorable. That is why we were straining every sinew to achieve this objective. Despite of frosty weather, all the participants were more than satisfies with the meeting’s organizational level and expressed their wish to come back to the Republic’s capital.
