On June, 29 – July, 1 “President Hotel” in Moscow hosted first BRICS Civil Forum. The meeting is planned to be permanently acting BRICS format. The main aim is to provide a constructive dialogue of the civil society representatives with the leaders in such spheres as healthcare, culture, development, urbanization, finance and etc.
Over 350 civil society, business and government bodies representatives, experts, academics and journalists from the Russian Federation, Brazil, China, India and the South Africa visited the event. The Forum was really large-scaled and demanded a special attention to each organizational stage, starting from elaboration of the online registration portal and assistance to delegations during a registration process and ending with guests’ accreditation on the Forum’s venue. Moreover, Liaison Officers were working on-site to promote prompt informational and logistic coordination for the delegations. They were also meeting and greeting Heads of Delegations and accompanying persons and after the Forum took them to the airport. Transportation department arranged chauffeured company cars for the Heads of Delegations and shuttles for other participants from/to airports and railway stations. Technical management department set-up the venue and branded it in line with BRICS corporate identity.
The Forum resulted in eight pages of recommendations for the BRICS governments from civil society representatives in a number of spheres including security, the power industry, the economy, trade, healthcare, education, science and social issues. The document proposes that a BRICS treaty be signed based on the UN principle of non-aggression, which can serve as a benchmark for international relations on the global level.
