In February, Proxy Centre took part in providing transport services for a seminar for teams playing in the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russiaтм. The seminar was held in Sochi on 26–28 February and was attended by representatives of all the 32 national teams playing in the World Cup finals.
The seminar assembled the teams’ coaches, physicians, technical professionals, specialists in media relations, accommodation, safety and security, logistics, transport, and marketing. They took part in several sessions attended by members of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA) and by members of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russiaтм Organising Committee. The seminar focused on preparations and procedural matters for the upcoming tournament.
Fatma Samoura, FIFA’s Secretary General, Alexey Sorokin, Director General of the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russiaтм Organising Committee, and Nikolay Doluda, Deputy Governor of the Krasnodar Region, took part in the seminar’s plenary session together with representatives of the national teams.
Among other things, Proxy Centre set up transport and information desks and transport areas for the seminar participants. The company’s professionals selected and trained supervisors for the transport and information desks and for pick-up and drop-off zones. A total of 14 employees handled the logistics for the seminar participants. Transport desks and transport zones were located at Sochi airport, the guests’ arrival point, and at the Radisson Blu Resort & Congress Centre. Availability of the transport zones made it easy and convenient for the participants to travel between the seminar facilities; these zones ensured prompt resolution of logistics matters and they were also used for welcome and farewell ceremonies for top-level participants.
Proxy Centre continues to provide transport services for the FIFA members’ seventh inspection visit to all the World Cup host cities. Previously, the company provided transport services for FIFA’s first stage of the inspection visit to St Petersburg and Moscow in January. During the second and third stages, Proxy Centre will handle transport services in Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, Nizhny Novgorod, Volgograd and Kaliningrad.
The principal purpose of the visits is to discuss stadium operations during the upcoming 2018 FIFA World Cup Russiaтм. The joint group from FIFA and the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russiaтм Organising Committee consists of experts in stadium design, preparing and holding competitions, safety and security, transport, logistics, hospitality, TV broadcasting, media logistics, personnel logistics, marketing and ticketing programmes.
