“Proxy Centre” provided transport service of the draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia

“Proxy Centre” provided complex transport service during preparation and staging of the final draw for the 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia, which took place on 1 December in Moscow in the State Kremlin Palace.

“Proxy Centre” provided vehicles and driver staff for the draw, maintaining simultaneous work of more than 100 vehicles. The company’s employees organized works in the special purpose car pool such as daily instructing for drivers, briefings for dispatchers and call-center operators, business processes on releasing vehicles on the road and returning them to the special purpose car pool, procedures connected with the work of shuttles. It contributed to stable work of the event’s transport service and high level of servicing.

More than 20 employees of “Proxy Centre” participated in managing the event’s transport service. In total, more than 200 specialists were involved in the transport service, including about 150 drivers.

Specialists of “Proxy Centre” also maintained work of transport desks and loading zones at key locations along the routes for participants of the event: in the territory of the State Kremlin Palace, in “Sheremetyevo”, “Domodedovo”, and “Vnukovo” airports, in the territory of hotels FIFA HQ (Radisson Royal Hotel) and Marriott Novy Arbat, as well as in Crown Plaza club, where a seminar for teams participating in the World Cup was held.

45 people were involved in the work of transport desks and loading zones: 2 coordinators from “Proxy Centre” and 43 embedded contractors. Representatives of “Proxy Centre” arranged selection and training of the external workforce, supervised the work of transport desks.

Operators of transport desks coordinated loading of the participants into vehicles, transport service for representatives of FIFA and the World Cup Organizing Committee. Tasks of the operators also included communication with the dispatching control and clients, volunteer management, informational support for clients on the issues of the whole transport system work, including public transport.

During the final draw in Kremlin, 32 teams participating in the World Cup were divided into eight groups of four teams. President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin took part in the ceremony. Before the ceremony started, the head of state had met the stars of the world football, among whom were Diego Maradona, Pele, and Ronaldo. Opening the official ceremony, the President expressed his hope for the World Cup to contribute to the unity of sportspeople from all over the world.

“We will do anything so that the World Cup becomes a great sports celebration. But the key is to make it unite the large and friendly international sports family even more – the family to which the most important things are sports itself, friendship, and fair contest, and the values of which are not subject to any kind of the current conjuncture,” – said Vladimir Putin.

The host of the ceremony was Gary Lineker; there were many famous players on the stage and in the audience. Lineker’s assistants were legendary players, who represented eight countries – winners of the World Cup – as well as hosts of the championship: Laurent Blanc from France, Gordon Banks from England, Cafu from Brazil, Fabio Cannavaro from Italy, Diego Forlan from Uruguay, Miroslav Klose from Germany, Diego Maradona from Argentina, Carles Puyol from Spain, and Nikita Simonyan from Russia. Among special guests at the ceremony, there were President of FIFA Giovanni Infantino, Lothar Matthäus, Samuel Eto'o, and others.

In the opening game of the 2018 FIFA World Cup, which will take place on 14 June at the “Luzhniki” stadium, the Russian team, which is at the top of group A, will meet the team of Saudi Arabia. In 31 days after the beginning of the World Cup in Moscow, the iconic stadium “Luzhniki” will also host the final game of the championship, the winner of which will raise the precious trophy overhead.

2018 FIFA World Cup RussiaTM will take place in Russia in the summer of 2018. JSC “Proxy Center” is responsible for transport service for client groups of the championship and collateral events in three geographical clusters out of four: Western, Central, and Southern ones. The company will provide transport services in eight out of eleven cities, which host matches of the World Cup: Saint Petersburg, Kaliningrad, Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Sochi, Rostov-on-Don, and Volgograd.

Earlier, JSC “Proxy Centre” already took part in preparation and staging of the FIFA Confederations Cup 2017, which took place in Russia in June-July 2017. This championship can be regarded as the “final check” from the perspective of preparation to the World Cup. Specialists of the company provided a number of services, including transport service for participants and delegates of the championship, using the pool of sponsor, own, and rented cars of different classes, as well as work organization of transport-information desks.
