Proxy Centre company provided a high standard of transport services during the Confederations Cup held in Russia from 17 June to 2 July under FIFA auspices.
The matches of the Confederations Cup were attended by over 600 thousand people, with the average match attendance reaching 39 thousand people. Team Germany won the title.
FIFA appreciated the tournament’s organisation in Russia. “We have managed to achieve the goals set before us and were praised by FIFA, the Organising Committee, and the fans”, said Vitaly Mutko, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation for Sports, Tourism and Youth Policy, following the Confederations Cup.
Proxy Centre was responsible for the transport support for the tournament’s events in three cities: Moscow, St Petersburg and Sochi. The company provided more than 400 own and rented vehicles and 596 Proxy Centre employee drivers and hired specialists to provide services for the tournament’s Organising Committee and client groups. In addition, Proxy Centre engaged 120 people to assist in providing transport services at the Confederation Cup as dispatchers and support personnel.
Dispatch centres and transport operation services were set up in advance, and the focus groups were shaped in the cities where the tournament was held. This satisfied the transport needs of the organisers of, participants in and spectators of the tournament, observing a high standard of operation procedures and services.
The Confederations Cup is a big football tournament that takes place in the country hosting the FIFA World Cup, one year before the championship. Current champions of all the six Confederations (AFC, CAF, CONCACAF, CONMEBOL, OFC, and UEFA) as well as the winner of the previous FIFA World Cup and the host country team participate in the Confederations Cup. The following teams took part in this year’s tournament: Russia (host), Germany (2014 World Cup winner), Australia (Asian Cup winner), Chile (Copa América winners), Mexico (CONCACAF Gold Cup winner), Portugal (Euro winner), New Zealand (OFC Nations Cup winner), and Cameroon (Africa Cup of Nations winners).
In 2018, Proxy Centre will participate in the transport service for the FIFA World Cup. The company will provide transport services in eight of the 11 cities hosting the championship: St. Petersburg, Moscow, Sochi, Kaliningrad, Nizhny Novgorod, Saransk, Rostov-on-Don and Volgograd.
