For the first time, Proxy Centre organised accreditation of participants and transport at the ‘The ‘Arctic: Territory of Dialogue’ International Arctic Forum (IAF) which in 2017 took place in Arkhangelsk and was attended by Russian President Vladimir Putin, President of Finland Sauli Niinistö and President of Iceland Guðni Jóhannesson.
The IAF’s mission is to bring together international organisations, state authorities, research and business communities of Russia and other countries to coordinate their approaches to developing international cooperation, consolidating efforts to ensure sustainable development of the Arctic, and improving living standards in Arctic territories.
Proxy Centre’s transport department specialists organised the Forum’sSingle Control Centre, drew up the route network for shuttle buses for participants, trained the team of transport coordinators and managed the work of coordinators throughout the Forum.
Proxy Centre was also responsible for addressing all issues pertaining to accreditation of participants, media representatives and technical staff. Proxy Centre professionals established an effective framework for streamlined operation of accreditation points, which worked from 20 to 30 March at the Building School of the Northern (Arctic) Federal University. More than 2000 badges were distributed among participants and media representatives, 4,000 badges given to technical staff and 600 transport passes issued.
In the run-up to and during the Forum, Proxy Centre also outlined access control borders for participants with various degrees of accreditation and provided for effective operation of the borders. At the venue of the IAF plenary session, the Arkhangelsk Lomonosov Drama Theatre, an additional Help Desk was provided for participants experiencing technical difficulties with accreditation.
