The Russian Investment Forum (RIF) in Sochi was held in a new format in 2017, with the focus on the domestic Russian agenda. The Forum was moved from September to February, making the interval between the previous Forum and the recent one less than six months. Even so, RIF-2017 was a major event in the business life of Russia and the world: the Forum was attended by approximately 4,800 visitors and agreements and contracts for more than RUB 490 bn were signed.
During the preparations for and holding of the Forum, Proxy Centre handled the accreditation of all categories of participants, media and technical personnel, and vehicles; it acted as the operational directorate and operator of the single dispatch centre for vehicles used for Forum purposes.
The company’s specialists pre-equipped two main accreditation points in the Sochi main media centre and the Radisson Congress Centre hotel. Another accreditation point operated at the Tulip Inn, dealing with vehicles, drivers and personnel involved preparation for the Forum. Proxy Centre provided all the necessary equipment for 16 accreditation operator workplaces. The company’s employees ensured steady and uninterrupted operation of the equipment and specialised software.
During the Forum, Proxy Centre’s specialists met guests at the accreditation points, promptly issued accreditation badges and information kits, and provided comprehensive information about Forum events. The assigned tasks were completed in full, without failures or unforeseen situations. The company’s employees issued over 3,000 badges to official programme participants, 900 badges to media representatives, about 500 transport passes, and more than 4,000 badges to technical personnel and company employees participating in the exhibition constituting part of the Forum.
Proxy Centre also operated the single dispatch center for vehicles used for the Forum. The company managed the Forum’s fleet of official cars and the staff of qualified drivers providing transfers for meetings and departures of event participants, and ensuring shuttle bus traffic. Moreover, Proxy Centre was responsible for organizing transport services for individual applications.
The key event of the Forum was a plenary session attended by Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of Russia. In his speech, he noted the positive trends in the Russian economy, including reduction in inflation from 13% in 2015 to 5.4% in 2016.
“The fall in the gross domestic product has come to a halt. January statistics demonstrated a transition by real disposable income into the positive zone – its growth was about 8% year on year”, said Dmitry Medvedev. The Prime Minister of Russia stressed that the country needed to intensify development of its regions, also by attracting investments. “These strategic goals will be achieved with support from the Government’s Comprehensive Action Plan for the period from 2017 to 2025. The main task is to develop a system of actions that will enable us, in the coming years, to achieve growth rates comparable to the average rates around the globe or even higher, which would be even better”, claimed the Head of the Russian Government.
