A presentation of the SCO Youth Card (SCOYouthcard) initiative was held in Moscow on March 23, 2015 in the Ritz-Carlton, Moscow hotel. The initiative was sponsored by the SCO Youth Council.
The SCO Youth Card was designed to serve as an international ID card for undergraduate and graduate students, and the faculty of members of the SCO University, the largest international educational programme in Eurasia, which consists of 53 leading universities from SCO member states. When traveling in the region, SCO Youth Card holders will be eligible for discounts on air and railway tickets, and hotel and hostel accommodation, meals, visits to cultural institutions and other tourist services.
Proxy Centre company was involved into preparation and organization processes on participant’s informational support, venue set-up, online registration and accreditation. A lot of representatives of public authorities, including the Presidential Executive Office, the Government of Russian Federation, the Federation Council and the State Duma participated in the Presentation.
The meeting’s outcome became a plan to launch a pilot project in 2016, which will include 17 Russian universities. Negotiations are presently underway with Russian Railways, Transaero, Red Wings, the Izmailovo Hotel and the Intercontinental and Cosmos hotels to provide discounts as part of the project.
