Annual Global Dignity Day was celebrated on 16th of October in more than 50 countries around the world. Global Dignity Day was founded by Young Global Leaders in 2006 at the World Economic Forum: HRH Crown Prince Haakon (Norway), Professor Pekka Himanen (Finland) and founder of Operation HOPE, John Hope Bryant (United States).
Specialists’ team of «Proxy Centre» was actively involved into organization of Global Dignity Day in Saint Petersburg. We think that experience in organizing socially-important events of such subject is highly valuable for our company and important for the whole society.
It is the third Global Dignity Day in Russia. Ten educational platforms in Saint Petersburg hosted this event: 5 schools of Nevsky district (332, 333, 572, 574, 26), 4 schools of Petrogradsky district (3, 20, 67, 91) and the Faculty of International Affairs, Saint Petersburg State University.
Key point was open demonstration lesson for senior students of schools, gymnasiums, colleges, and first-course university students. Curators and volunteers in dialogue-manner presented the concept of Dignity and organized discussions during Literature lessons. Students wrote letters to themselves about their plans to-do for the year, practicing and following Dignity category. These letters will be opened by the students next year within the framework of Global Dignity Day.
The aim of this Event is to show young people, students and pupils to follow Dignity in their everyday life and in personal development.
