On April 28-29, 2015, Sochi hosted the 26th Meeting of the SCO Special Task Force on Customs Cooperation. The event was attended by representatives from the customs services of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Russian Federation, the People's Republic of China, the Kyrgyz Republic, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Uzbekistan and the SCO Secretariat.
Within the Meeting, Proxy Centre specialists were involved into fulfillment of various organizational tasks. We organized transfers from the International Sochi Airport to the designated hotels and on the way back. The meeting venue was fitted with all the necessary equipment and decorated in line with the SCO corporate identity. There were Accreditation and Information desk at participant’s disposal, where all the delegates could get exhaustive information about the Meeting. Liaison Officers were closely working with the guests, providing instant administrative and logistic support.
One of the most important achievements was the signing of two documents concerning international customs cooperation - a Memorandum between the customs services of the SCO member states on cooperation in the development and application of risk management and a protocol on cooperation between the customs services of the SCO member states in law enforcement. During the meeting, the experts also addressed cooperation on the exchange of the information necessary to determine and control the customs value of goods. In addition, the parties considered a draft plan for implementing the signed documents and a list of events for the further development of project activity within the SCO for 2017-2021.
