Singapore hosted the Second Meeting of the Committee on Trade and Investment (CTI2) and Related Meetings from March 28 until April 3, 2012 under Russia's APEC chairmanship. The meeting focused on the APEC priorities in 2012.
The meeting discussed ways of moving towards free and open trade and investment in the region. Delegates praised the progress made in the discussion of the next generation of trade and investment liberalization, selected as one of the priorities for this year's meeting. In particular, the attendees discussed innovation and trade policies and the participation of small- and medium-sized business in global production chains.
Following instructions from APEC leaders, the participants also reviewed proposals for stimulating economic growth, which included ways to improve the supply system by eliminating obstacles which hinder the free flow of goods and services, raise operation costs and cause disruption in supplies.
Russia presented four initiatives at the Committee on Trade and Investment meeting. These proposals will be discussed further at the committee's subsequent meetings and will include comments from the economies received between sessions. The committee's working groups will meet later in Kazan. The outcome of the discussion will be presented at the Meeting of Ministers Responsible for Trade on June 4-5, 2012.
During this event, transport department of Proxy Centre LLC launched a service - Round Trip Buses, buses run from Changi airport to Marina Bay Sands, Parkroyal on Beach Road and Peninsula Excelsior hotels. Individual transport service for High Officials, including representatives of MFA of the Russian Federation, was arranged, specifically: Toyota Camry and Toyota Alphard.
