St. Petersburg International Economic Forum was held under “Time to Act: Shared Paths to Stability and Growth” slogan. According to participants and organizers point of view, that was the most successful, effective and most visited Forum throughout its history. The programme was unique in both scope and the subjects covered by a total of over 150 events, including SCO and BRICS Business Forums, Sberbank of Russia Plenary Session and Valdai International Discussion Club session, 205 agreements were signed. The total value of the agreements (not involving trade secrets) signed amounted to RUB 293.4 billion. The plenary session, roundtables and briefings were attended by 50 Russian VIPs: ministers, heads of federal agencies and services and 50 foreign VIP participants. High level delegations attended the Forum from China, Bulgaria, Serbia, Bahrain, Iraq, Saudi Arabia, Myanmar and Nicaragua.
The amount of job this year has significantly increased, - comments Director General of the “Proxy Centre” – company, which has been involved into the Forum’s organization already for many years. - 10 000 participants have been accredited to the Forum, which is a record: we have never seen such a great number of guests”. Number of technical personnel, taking part in the preparation and coordination of the Forum is 10 851, which are representatives of 290 contracting companies. IT-department of the Proxy Centre company have accredited 5 400 transport vehicles for preparations and carrying out of the event and 4 170 drivers.
Obviously, despite of sanctions regime, interest to the SPIEF only grows. The events were attended by participants from 120 countries, including Russia. Over 668 speakers and moderators took part in the discussions at the Forum events – key influential figures of Russia and foreign countries. The central event at the Forum - the Plenary Session with the participation of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin was covered by over 70 international TV channels.
