The 6th APEC Senior Disaster Management Officials Forum was held in Vladivostok, Russia, from October 9 to 10, 2012, within the framework of Russia's chairmanship of APEC.
The Asia-Pacific region experiences over 70% of the world's natural disasters, which explains why the APEC economies consider emergency preparedness to be one of the key elements of APEC's human security agenda.
The senior disaster management officials discussed several issues of emergency preparedness for natural and man-made disasters. They focused, in part, on Russia's proposal for a joint APEC crisis management center that would coordinate the operation of the member economies' crisis management centers. There are also plans to set up an international expert group, which will quickly select the pivotal crisis management centers, ensuring that the system will be operational by January 1, 2013.
Proxy Center organized an integrated transport service for the participants of the 6th Senior Disaster Management Officials Forum.
Our company took care of transporting the participants to the field exercises held by EMERCOM and an exposition of damage control equipment and machines. We also transported 198 Mercedes Benz cars from Russian island to «Okeanskaya» railway station for their further forwarding to Moscow.
